These pillar candles are made from a slightly higher melting point soy wax, providing them with the rigidity needed in a strong pillar. These pillars burn cleanly all the way to the bottom - after a few burns the edges may need to be 'trained' - where you break them off and place around the wick. Also, as with all our candles, it is important that you trim the wick to 1/4" before each burn, for maximizing the candle's life, as well as for reducing flame ups and a smokey flame.
